What changed in 2026: the 1-year multiple-entry Umrah visa

The Umrah visa for Pakistan is now booked through Nusuk and issued by the Saudi Digital Embassy, with a validity of one year. Before this change, an Umrah visa was valid for 90 days only. Here is how the new visa works:

  • Valid for one year from the date it is issued.
  • Multiple entry: you can travel for Umrah more than once on the same visa.
  • Maximum stay of 90 days in Saudi Arabia, even though the visa itself is valid for a year.
  • Not active during Hajj season, from 1 Dhul Qadah to 14 Dhul Hijjah.

Your visa must be activated before every trip

A one-year visa does not mean you can fly to Saudi Arabia at any time. Before each trip, you must inform the Umrah company that issued your visa. They update your booking on Nusuk and activate the visa. If the visa is not activated, immigration will not allow you to enter Saudi Arabia.

When you exit Saudi Arabia, the visa becomes inactive again. For your next trip on the same visa, contact your Umrah company and repeat the activation before you travel.

Important: do not book your flight on an existing Umrah visa until your Umrah company confirms that the visa is active on Nusuk for your travel dates.

Umrah permit on the Nusuk app

An Umrah permit gives you a time slot to perform Umrah at Masjid al-Haram. At this time the Umrah permit is not mandatory, but you can book it easily and free of charge in the Nusuk app. We recommend that every pilgrim books a permit before performing Umrah.

Documents required for an Umrah visa from Pakistan

Keep a clear scan or photo of each document for every traveller in your group, including children.

  1. PassportValid for at least six months from your travel date. Send a clear copy of the first two pages.
  2. CNIC or Smart CNICFront and back.
  3. Passport-size photographRecent, with a white background.
  4. Emergency contactName and phone number of someone in Pakistan we can reach if needed.

Documents for children

For children, only a passport is required. It is better to also share the FRC (Family Registration Certificate), an official NADRA document.

Tip: your name must match your passport exactly on every document and booking. A small spelling difference is one of the most common reasons an application gets held up.

Can women apply for an Umrah visa without a mahram?

Yes. In 2026, women can apply for an Umrah visa and perform Umrah without a mahram. There is no restriction, so a single woman can travel for Umrah on her own or with a group.

Vaccination certificates for Umrah 1447H (2026)

You do not need vaccination certificates to apply for an Umrah visa. But you must carry them with you when you travel, because authorities sometimes check them at the airport. The Saudi Ministry of Health sets two vaccinations for pilgrims travelling from Pakistan.

Polio

Every traveller from Pakistan, of any age, must take at least one dose of polio vaccine (drops or injection) before travel, even if they were vaccinated before. It is best taken at least four weeks before you arrive. Keep your NADRA polio certificate with you.

Meningitis

You need a meningitis vaccine (ACYW), taken within the last five years for the conjugate type or the last three years for the polysaccharide type. It must be taken at least 10 days before you arrive in Saudi Arabia, so plan the appointment early.

Good to know: polio and meningitis are the required vaccines. The flu vaccine is recommended but not required, so ask for an itemised receipt if you are charged for extra vaccines. Official source: Saudi Ministry of Health, health requirements for Umrah (PDF).

Umrah visa cost from Pakistan in 2026

Umrah visa priceSAR 500 to 650About PKR 38,000 to 49,400Per person, at 1 SAR = 76 PKR. The exchange rate and price can change.
Travelling in a group?30+ travellersGroups of 30 or more people usually get a lower visa cost within the package.

There is no single fixed price for an Umrah visa. The price depends on the terms and conditions of each application and changes from time to time, so we confirm the current rate before you pay. Health insurance is not included in the Umrah visa fee.

What affects the Umrah visa price

  • Peak season: prices rise during busy months such as Rabi ul Awwal and Ramadan.
  • Saudi government policy: changes to visa policies and fees.
  • Exchange rate: when the Saudi riyal rises against the Pakistani rupee, the cost in PKR goes up.
  • New rules and regulations: new visa requirements can change the cost.

Before paying any agent, ask for a written quote that shows whether the price is for the visa only or includes hotel, transport and flights. Our complete Umrah packages combine the visa, flights, hotel and transport on one invoice, or you can request a hotel quote for Makkah and Madinah and a flight quote from Pakistan separately.

How long does Umrah visa processing take?

When your documents are complete, an Umrah visa is usually issued within 24 hours. To be safe, we ask our clients to allow 3 to 5 days. After you apply, one of three things happens:

Most common

Visa issued

Your documents are complete and the visa is issued directly. You are ready for the next step of your trip.

Sometimes

Sent for embassy review

The visa is not issued straight away and goes to the Saudi Embassy or Consulate for review. You will need to complete a biometric, explained below.

Rare

Rejected

The embassy rejects the visa directly. In our experience this happens in less than 1 percent of cases. Most Umrah visas for Pakistani applicants are approved.
